We need to make everyone aware of a potential issue with batch processing.

We've received two reports of batches not processing correctly after a movie file name with two-byte characters, ie. those in Kanji, is encountered. The rest of the batch may process correctly, or it may process each file but add a track linked to the file with the two-byte character file name for each of the processed files.

We have duplicated the issue on our test Macs and intend to resolve it as quickly as possible. We will update this post with additional details soon. Thank you all for your patience!

The issues are now clearly defined:

1. There is an issue with AppleScript that in our case prevents it from working with file names in two-byte characters. We have a plan to resolve this that could be ready later today.

2. There is a separate issue that will cause Podner to create files with the correct names but the wrong contents. This appears to be a recaching issue in Apple's QTKit that is triggered by our use of a modal run loop while batch processing combined with adding an input source to the main thread's run loop. It has only manifested in two circumstances: having a movie playing in Podner's movie view when a batch process is started, and attempting to drag a file across the Podner window while a batch is in process. We have resolved this issue in our latest internal build and will release the fix later today as part of Podner 1.1.1.

We have addressed both issues in Podner 1.1.1, released this evening. Please update by replacing your copy of Podner 1.1 with the latest version, available at http://www.splasm.com/downloads/podner/Podner.dmg
