I'm used to Quickbooks, but your software is much simpler. My business often pays business expenses by credit card, and then we pay the cc from our checking account. When I make this lump sum payment to the cc company, I need to be able to break down the entry in Checkbook. For example, I might enter a cc payment that involves $100 in travel, $100 in vehicle expense, $100 in continuing education, etc. If I only entered one payment of $300 and categorized it "credit card," then I would lose track of all of those categories of expenses. Does Checkbook or Checkbook Pro allow me to do this? I've used Checkbook for several years to manage our home finances, but I've never noticed this feature.

I simply set up a separate CB account for the CC.

As t3rockhall points out, using a separate Account to track Credit Card spending is a great way to go. Or, using a Split Entry could alternately do the trick. To create splits within an Entry, create the Entry, click the Split button at the top of the new Entry sheet, and then add the splits there, each of which can hold a Category. Using this method, the overall container Entry Category could be 'Credit Card', while each split item could use the different designations that you mentioned.
