I just downloaded Checkbook Pro earlier today and I'm trying it out (along with some other possibilities). So far, I'm liking it quite a bit but am discovering a few little things. For instance, in scheduled transactions, I'd like to enter my SS payment which is direct deposited on the 4th Wednesday of every month. I don't see that kind of choice available. Not a deal-breaker, but curious if it's possible.

Also, how are most of you using Description vs Notes? I'm equating those both to what would be Memo in a regular checkbook register.

And I'm still getting used to using one column for debits and Deposits. :)

I'm sure I'll have a few more questions as I continue trying it out. Thanks.

The following post does a good job explaining how to setup a Schedule for a specific day of the week, each month: https://splasm.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... ize#p12644

Also, in general, we find users do tend to use the Description field for Memos they might write-out for physical checks, then the Notes area would be for anything extra.

You might like to know as well that you can easily separate entry amounts into two separate columns by deactivating the Amount column, then activating both the Debit and the Deposit columns. Simply go up to click the View menu at the top of the screen and slide down to hover over "Columns", to access all available column options.

Thanks for the reply, Allan.

I just checked out that thread about scheduling. I hadn't even noticed the Customize button there. That will do exactly what I want. Now I'm going to see if I can incorporate splits into that scheduled transaction.

And your explanation of getting separate columns for Debit and Deposit was exactly what I was looking for.

These answers put a couple more checks in the plus column as I explore my options. Thank you!
