I just spent several days recreating 8 months of banking information after the local computer shop sent my hard drive back to Apple without me having an opportunity to retrieve that information. Long story....don't get me started.

I want to create a back up file on an external hard drive. I don't want to run Checkbook Pro from the hard drive (do I????). I want to leave it on my desktop, and back up the files every two weeks or so. Would you please give me very basic (interpret that as simple) instructions on how to accomplish this task.

Thanks!
Cynthia

You can use the 'Backup Accounts' menu option under the file menu while Running CheckBook. This will give you a prompt for a name for the backup and the save location. You can save them anywhere you like. We also have instructions on our Support Page for CheckBook on how to restore a backup if the need arises. Let us know if you have anymore questions.

You should consider SuperDuper!, which will make a bootable clone of your entire hard drive. http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/SuperDuperDescription.html. This will save everything, apps and documents and settings, for that painful day that we all hope never comes.
