Checkbook pro -
For many months I've been able to export from my bank (PNC), then import to Checkbook just fine.

This month it imports ok but I have to uncheck many (too many).

Before it was smart enough to uncheck those that were in the Checkbook already, Don't know what changed, but it is a real bummer.

An uncheck all import would be nice.
Then let me check just the ones I need to import.

There are so many to uncheck that it makes Checkbook pro - un useable.
Please help - Loni

The "Import All" button checks/unchecks the Import checkbox for all the Entries in the Import Preview. Hit it when none or some of the Entries are set to import and the Import checkbox for all of them will become unchecked. Hit it when all of the Entries are not set to import and the Import checkbox for all of them will become checked. That should help some.

CheckBook's duplicate matching code hasn't changed in a while - but here's how it works:

First, CheckBook looks at the Date and Amount of incoming Entries vs. those of your existing Entries. If it finds any matches it then compares the To/From. If those match it makes sure the Import checkbox for the incoming Entry is left unchecked. If the To/Froms don't match it then compares the Descriptions, again unchecking the Import checkbox for matches. It's pretty simple - but why did it stop working so well in your case?

The only answer is something about the Amount, Date or To/From/Description in the previously imported data is different from the incoming values you see in the Import Preview. For example, this can happen if you import a few Entries and change their Dates to better reflect the actual transaction date (the bank's version of the date can be a day or more later than the actual date the transaction took place) or if you modify the To/From and Description. When some of the same Entries are in the next file you try to import they will show up with their Import checkboxes checked because their Dates or To/Froms or Descriptions don't match those of the previously imported Entries. Another idea is you may not be modifying anything at all - but the bank may have started putting data in their OFX Payee or Memo fields and that data doesn't match the lack of data in the previously imported Entries so CheckBook can't see a match. We'd have to see your Accounts file and one of the OFX statement files that's giving you trouble to be sure.

Any ideas on your end after reading all of that?

Yes! Thankyou, thankyou! That worked.

The import all - works nicely to toggle all on/off.

Your right something changed. The
"import Memos as" Notes
"import Names as" Descriptions

somehow got reversed. (I like it better - makes better sense to me)
I do not remember changing it, the PNC Bank form looks a little different.

Anyway, thankyou again, love the program. (And your fast response)
