I'm trying to move Check Book from my macbook pro to my imac but it's saying:

Your accounts file appears to be in a new format that this version of CB may not understand. Your data may be lost if CB continues to try to read the new format.

I have the same version on both computers.

Any ideas?

I would first try removing all copies of the CheckBook application on the iMac by using a spotlight search, and then download the latest version from our website. See if that fixes any version issues that are cropping up. You can always verify what version you have launched by going to the 'About' menu item under the CheckBook menu at the top of the screen.

I did what you said...

Deleted ALL the files, and dl'd the app again but now it's asking me to either purchase it or enter my serial number. I have NO clue what the serial number is and don't want to purchase it a second time. Any thoughts?

if you didn't save the email they sent you, just write to them. I keep a simple txt list of all my serial numbers on my Mac (in Documents). I recommend everyone do this, especially now, in the day of software downloads and payments, and nothing in a box.

If you no longer have a copy of your serial number, you can look it up here: http://store.esellerate.net/store/support/Default.aspx

If you don't know the email you used to order, you can just email us at customerservice@splasm.com with your name or any other details you may have used when you ordered and we can get you the serial number.
