I am a new Mac user and just purchased Checkbook. Can I import into Checkbook from my Quicken 2003 (Dos Ver) backup file?

Your copy of Quicken should have the ability to export to a QIF file, which CheckBook can understand. Create a QIF file in Quicken, transfer that file to your Mac and select Import->QIF... from CheckBook's File menu. Select the QIF file and tweak the Import Options to suit. CheckBook should present a preview of all the transactions in the QIF file, allowing you to modify each transaction before it's turned into a CheckBook Entry. Pay careful attention to the dates in the preview - if they appear wrong you'll need to go back and modify the date format in the Import Options window.
