Hi, have just moved over to an iMac from a Windows PC on which I have run MS-Money for many years. Checkbook Pro seems to have all the functionality that I need - but I have come across 1 feature that is certainly more difficult than in MS-Money. When I import a .qif that has been downloaded from my bank or cc company MS-Money will very easily match any entries that already exist in your account log/register. With CB-Pro I was presented with a list of the transactions that had been downloaded, some of which were checked for import, others that were not because CB-Pro recognised they already existed in the log/register. However the correctness of this was not good with items in the import list being checked/unchecked in a fairly spurious manner. Can someone help me understand what 'rules' CB-Pro applies when trying to match import items agains log/register entries. I had one entry for £900 made payable to myself (an xfr to savings account) however CB-Pro did not recognise the £900 because the banks entry was slight different in regards to the payee. This is the ONLY thing that is stopping me from purchasing the full version of the product. Many thanks Basilomnor |

Sorry for the delay in a response. CheckBook does match transactions, but is very strict about it and doesn't track the original content. If anything changes significantly from the original import, CheckBook errs on the side of caution and treats the new import that doesn't match as a new transaction. This is one thing we are going to take another look at in the future. We do appreciate the feedback on the feature! |
