Hello,

I'm ready to purchase CheckBook after running the trial for a short amount of time. However, I have one problem/question.

I've entered 1 Deposit and 4 Debits. Somehow I have an entry of $37.78 (that amount doesn't match any of the entries) that's appearing as "Unresolved" and "Taxable".

I've obviously done something for this to occur but I don't know why it's there or how to remove it.

I've attached a screenshot to illustrate the issue.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

37.78 is the difference between your debits and credits. Depending on which entries you have checked as "resolved" the resolved balance will change. Mine looks the same. "Taxable" is interesting; I suppose it depends on whether you have checked any item as being tax-deductible. I have always ignores this. It's only confusing.

Do yourself a favor, and skip the "summary" page. Instead, at the bottom of the entry page, make the box "Running Balance" and it will do what I think you want it to do. Click on any item of detail, and the running balance will show what you have up to and including the item highlighted. If you do this, the 37.78 will appear at the bottom as the running balance.

Thank you, t3rockhall, for the reply.

I didn't see the $37.78 as the difference between the debits and credits. I thought I'd looked at everything. Thank you for that!

That taxable total still doesn't make any sense to me, however.

What I need this for is to replace Quicken as an easy way to report a Petty Cash account to my bookkeeper and the owner of the business I manage, so I need the summary as a report I can print monthly.

CheckBook is the best replacement I've found so far. I suppose it will just be a matter of getting used to something different.

Thanks again.
