I accidentally unreconciled every transaction. Years' worth of them. Is there a way to mark everything reconciled in one step? Thanks.

There are backup plist files in your user folder. If you are using CBP 2.3.1, you can restore via preferences/advanced.

Before you try this, file/backup accounts to the desktop, just for safety.

In 2.3.1, once you reconcile an item, it's locked. I don't understand how you could have unchecked them.

It sounds like you might have merely hit the 'Reset Unreconciled Entries' button. In which case, all you really did was undo the Resolved status of your Entries. To quickly check off all of your Entries again as Resolved, first, go back in to the Reconcile section. Next, click on the Entry at the top of the register to select it and then scroll down to the bottom and while holding down the Shift key click on the last Entry. This will select all of your Entries causing them to turn blue. Finally, click on the Resolve button at the top of the window--your Entries will all be checked off as Resolved again.

To complete the Reconciliation process, type your Ending Balance from your bank statement in to the Statement Balance field, hit the Return key, and then if everything matches up right, the Reconcile button will light up. Click Reconcile to lock in your Entries as Resolved and thus fully reconciled in CheckBook (Pro).

After everything's reconciled you won't have to worry about hitting the 'Reset Unreconciled Entries' button again since it will be greyed-out and unavailable.

Thanks for the help, both of you. Allan, yes I did 'reset unreconciled entries.' Your instructions worked.

I'm a refugee Quicken user, thanks to Mac OS X 10.7. I'm still getting the hang of doing things a little differently.

I am using CheckBook, rather than CheckBook Pro, because all I use it for is a simple checking/savings account situation. I'm guessing the reconcile feature you describe for Pro is the same for CheckBook... but I should be OK because my finances are really uncomplicated.

Yep, the process is the same for CheckBook and CheckBook Pro. It's good to hear that you got everything sorted out!
