Post subject:  iPad Finance App: Which do you use?

Hi all!

Since the iPad version of CBPro is not yet up and running, I am wondering what app you use on your iPad to record transactions and then export to CBPro via qif?

I've been using Xpense Tracker and have taken a look at Checkbook and Accounts2. Each has good points, and each has major drawbacks.

Any one that you would recommend?

Thanks

Sorry, but exporting and importing all the time is WAY too much work. Since the CBP folks just keep promising, yet not delivering, it's time for me to move on. We've been "promised" the mobile app for over a year now... time to fish or cut bait.

@DWF:
Actually, it's been more like three years waiting for the iOS version of CB and, to be honest, I've kind of given up hope on Splasm putting one out... Having said that, I still think CBPro is by far the best app of its kind for the Mac and so I will continue to use it and support its development.

I want this topic, though, to be about iOS finance apps and not a forum to discuss Splasm's entry into that format. There are a few other topics that handle that nicely.

So. Any iOS finance apps any of you can recommend?

I use Pocket Money on the iPads ~ it's been around since the Newton version.
Although the iOS version is great the Mac version is horrible.
I just enter the amounts into both Checkbook & Pocket money at this stage. Both have auto transfers set up.

@Sue,

Thanks for the tip. I just purchased PocketMoney and so far so good. I really like that I could import all of my accounts to PM from CBPro. Though, I must say that I'd still pay good money for the CBPro iOS app.... [Hint, Hint to you Splasm folks! :wink: ]

:)

Didn't mean to threadcrap (still don't). But my point was simply this... importing and exporting to manually sync between CBP and ANY iOS app is more work than it's worth. Since Splasm doesn't seem to want to enter the iOS arena, the whole thing is moot to me. I continue to carry receipts around with me until I get back to my MacBook Pro and can enter them in CBP (or its replacement)...

As painful as that process is, it's much less so than entering items in both platform tools and/or messing with conversion/import/export.

I'm now looking for an integrated solution with entries on both the OSX and iOS platforms. Anything else is a "lose". If it's not integrated, it's NOT a solution.

I've been checking out PocketMoney lately. Does a nice job of syncing between desktop and iOS.

Also using Accounts2 on iOS and doing the export/import thing. It is a couple of extra steps, to be sure, but doesn't take that long and CBP imports the qif files without a glitch. And though I do not hold out much hope for a CBP/iOS connection, I still keep my fingers crossed! And this is because, for my needs, CBP is just too good to drop.

I've been watching it for a while now, but haven't tried it. There are some features that it doesn't have, but that I need.

I've decided just to sit tight and wait for Splasm to come up with their iOS app. CBPro is just so far above the others for the Mac and offers the feature set that I need, that I am willing to stick around. My gosh. I've been waiting almost four years. A few more months isn't gonna kill me. I hope. :P

There are plenty of iPad calculators -- some free, others a buck or two. This one is not hugely better than the others. It's simply a good-looking calculator with big buttons that also gives you a "paper tape" view of your previous calculations, which you can copy or email.
