I have "archived" a previous year into a folder under the account. If I delete the folder, will the data be returned to the checkbook?

In CheckBook Pro, deleting a Folder contained in an Account will permanently remove the Entries in the Folder from said Account. If you want to move the Entries so that they show in the main Account register, just drag and drop them onto that Account's name in the Accounts drawer.

To move a bunch of Entries at once, click on one and then while holding down the Shift key on the keyboard, click on another. This will select the first and last Entry plus everything in between. You can then drag and drop any Entries you have selected, all with one fell swoop.
