Syncing your data between two Macs is currently possible using the application, it would just require the use of an additional cloud service or something like Dropbox, which is actually free and allows for syncing of a folder shared by separate computers. Also, within the year we're adding syncing capabilities across a shared network to CheckBook—this syncing process won't require a separate service.
Either way, you won't be able to use the application on two Macs simultaneously with the changes showing up as you make them, though. With Dropbox or iCloud, the syncing basically happens automatically when you close the application, but you'll want to wait a few seconds before opening CheckBook on the next computer so that the second computer has time to retrieve the most recent Accounts file. And, with the future shared-network-syncing capabilities, a sync will need to be initiated by the user.
