I updated my mac to the mountain lion operating system, now when I try to enter a check amount for example $50.00 and hit tab or enter it changes to Zero $0.00.

The update we put out in April for CheckBook (Pro), version 2.3.2, fixes that. If you purchased from the Mac App Store you can find the update by going to the Mac App Store and clicking the Updates button at the top of the window. If you purchased directly from our online store you can update by going to the CheckBook (Pro) menu at the top left of your screen and clicking the "Check For Updates..." item. That should get things back to normal!

This is happening to me, too. I have Checkbook Pro 2.3.2, on a white iMac running Snow Leopard 10.6.8

What is my solution?

We've never heard of this same issue occurring in CheckBook Pro on Snow Leopard—we even test everything out on a Mac that's still running Snow Leopard here. Are you 100% sure that you're running 10.6.8? To verify, choose 'About This Mac' from the Apple menu at the top of the screen. And, are you completely sure of your CheckBook Pro version number? To verify that as well, choose 'About CheckBook Pro' from the CheckBook Pro menu.

If those two versions are definitely what you're working with, it's unlikely that the issue is actually the same as what the previous User was seeing. Are you certain that with the creation of any new Entry that the Amount field will not accept any value whatsoever? Could you tell us more about your exact process of entering in an Amount? Does the Amount field definitely change to 0.00 after being moved away from?
