| Post subject: | [RESOLVED] Cannot reconcile an account |
I have a credit card account that I have been reconciling for many months. Today I have received my credit card statement and went to reconcile this against the system. After entering all the correct numbers i.e. balance on credit card, etc and checking off each payment the "Unreconciled" value box had £0 in it, BUT the "Reconcile" button is still greyed out. So I cannot complete the Reconcile . Have been round the loop several times and get to the same point. Any ideas on how to solve or do I have to do a restore of an old backup copy? |

The Reconcile button should light up when everything matches up just right. We've seen before, though, where a fraction of a penny value was either imported in or inadvertently tacked on to a split Entry's amount, thus throwing off the Reconcile. So, it may be necessary to go back through your Entries, double-click each one, and get that value truly rounded up at the one-hundredth decimal place by double-clicking the Amount for each Entry. Once the value is set, the Reconcile should go through. If that doesn't do the trick or seems like too much of a hassle, we could certainly take a look at the raw data in order to locate the discrepancy for you. So, if you're willing to send a data file our way, choose 'Backup Accounts...' from the File menu and attach the resulting file to an email to support@splasm.com. |

Hi Allan, Yes it is now working - it does seem that for some reason the system thought that I had paid something which cost 101.112!!! When I reentered the correct value (101.11) it all balanced correctly. Weird..... fat fingers I guess. Many thanks for the quick response. Cheers Dave |
