I need to get my account reconciled. Is there a way to force Checkbook Pro to take everything I've done so far and then go from there? I can't get any of my numbers to add up.

When Reconciling in CheckBook Pro, it's best to take care of a discrepancy by determining what may be missing from the equation. Usually it's as simple as going through and ensuring that every single item's checked off that appears on the statement you're working with. However, if you've searched and searched without success, there are ways of balancing out a discrepancy.

Firstly, you might choose to factor what you're off by into the Starting Balance for your Account. For that, choose 'Edit Account...' from the Account menu at the top of the screen and then type the appropriate value into the Starting Balance field. Or, creating a dummy Entry would do the trick. To go that route, just create a new deposit or debit for what you're off by.

Is there a way to force reconcile though? I do have to say reconciling is the only part of the program I don't love. I'm used to Quick Books and it was a bit easier. What I want to do is force reconcile and start from there for next month.

Currently, there's no force Reconcile option. If you wanted to just make it appear as if things match up between your Account and the real world account, you could type what you see listed as the Resolved amount into the Statement Balance field and this would clear out the value for what's Unreconciled, thereby making the Reconcile button available. This is like saying your ending Balance from the statement you're Reconciling to is something it's not, though.
