laptop crashed. used time machine to restore certain files on my wife's laptop. Installed fresh new checkbooks 2.5. copied Checkbook 2 folder from Library/Application Support/ folder. When I open checkbooks, I only get entries up to 2012. I have searched my last time machine backup for "checkbook", "splasm", and "accounts". Nothing else comes up to restore. Help. 10.6.8. 2.1 ghz intel core 2 duo. |

It seems like you're looking in the right spot for data, but it's strange that an older file ended begin opened. Was the file accessed called 'Accounts.plist' or did it end in '.cbaccounts'? Accounts.plist would be a data file used in an older version while anything with the .cbaccounts file extension should be newer. And, were you looking at Library/Application Support/CheckBook 2 or at Library/Application/Splasm Software, Inc./CheckBook 2? The former would be the default save location used for pre-2.2 versions, while the latter is used by anything after on OS X 10.6 or earlier. |
