I'm putting an old 2007 MBP together for a friend and it's running Snow Leopard, which was just reinstalled by Apple after Mavericks froze the machine. I'd like to install the demo CBP for him (he's moving from a PC) and think he would like it and buy it, but I see conflicting system requirements. Minimum 10.5, but 10.7 recommended. What problems might be encountered?

He doesn't have iCloud, and will keep all files local. Is there an older version that might be better for him? The last thing I need is for his MBP to freeze up again!

There shouldn't be any issues with using the latest version of CheckBook Pro on 10.6. 10.7 is just recommended mainly because the application takes advantage of some extra security features that Apple added beginning with 10.7, like Sandboxing and GateKeeper, as well some improved API support.
