If you, brave soul, have installed the OS X El Capitan public beta, you'll probably want to grab a copy of CheckBook or CheckBook Pro 2.5.7, which includes a workaround to ensure the application launches properly. Get the Update If you purchased from the Mac App Store, open the Mac App Store app and click the Updates button at the top of the window. Be sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used for your original purchase. Keith, Now that the release of El Capitan is imminent, are there any "gotchas" we need to be aware of? |

No major gotchas that we've found. CheckBook 2.5.7 looks good on our test Mac with the OS X El Capitan GM installed, except for an issue related to fonts with proportional digits, an issue where "wide" years, like 1999, may not render the fourth digit in a date picker, and a situation where the Account Summary progress indicator may not appear. We've got those fixed up in version 2.5.8, which moved into beta a few days ago. When we get to a final candidate we're thinking about making it public, like we did with 2.5.7, so you can get it a couple of weeks early |

Bought PRO from apple store. worked fine for 2 years, then failed day before yesterday. saw that 2.5.8 beta might fix the capitan issue (pro not starting, just bouncing in dock). Now 2.5.8 beta says my version is unlicensed (not true), and accounts file cannot be edited. deleted 2.5.8, re-installed 2.5.7 hoping to find license number after which i would re-install 2.5.8 beta. can't find license number in 2.5.7, and now cannot use 2.5.7 because accounts file has been opened by 2.5.8 beta. so now i got nothin'. i sent four emails to splasm support, over the past two days and have not received a response. hep please. |
