I'd like to be able to use the data I enter into checkbook in a spreadsheet for custom reporting and manipulation. It's close with the text export but that seems to be missing the split info. If that were included and the ability to export the entries used in a summary report to text were also included checkbook would be perfect for me. My biggest issue with all the finance apps I've seen is that they seem to not care much about locking you in. I hate to spend so much time using a piece of software and be stuck in it's proprietary format. |

I have exactly the same issue with splits. Ineed a summary report of medical expenses. When I filter for the category "medical doctor", my report does not include the expenses included in my split entries. I can prepare a separate summary for split categories and get the info if print the report, but I can't export it. I then have to enter it my hand in my excel sheet. This seems to be the case for both "smart folders" and "quick filter". I want to access "medical doctor" expenses in line entries and in split entries in the same report. Not possible? Do I really have to do two separate reports? |

If you need totals for any one category, you dont need to filter for it. If you run a report for a certain date range and subtotal by category, you will get the category total you need including all splits with the same category. I hope this helps. |
