I have 10 accounts in my CBP app... two of those accounts are not included in the All Accounts summary ("Include in All Accounts" is unchecked). For those accounts, the account balance in the account drawer display is white on a light grey background ("Light Mode"), making them hard to read.

My reason for unchecking the "Include in All Accounts" box was to exclude them from summary reports which I use to check off against our monthly budget. Leaving a savings account included causes transfers to the saving account to be zero ($500 in/$500 out) so they don't show up in the reports... that is, if I transfer $500 from checking to savings, I want it to show as money out of checking... but since the balance of the savings account is not considered for budgetary purposes, this looks like the only way to make it work.

So, changing the colors of the transactions (debit and credit) doesn't affect the displayed balance for these accounts in the Account Drawer.

How can I get where I want to go?

We'd expect white text on a light gray background to show in the Accounts list only when a particular Account is selected and the list isn't in focus. Is that what you're dealing with there? If so, it's important to understand that you can click once over the name of the Account you currently have selected to see the gray replaced with the active Accent Color for your Mac, but there's not a way to change inactive Accent color, at this time.

Also, you'll need to ensure the Use entry color for Account balances & totals checkbox is checked—under Settings—to see the Balances in the Accounts list colorized to match your Debits/Deposits Color selections.

As far as I can tell, I have the settings set correctly... and adding screen shots of the settings screen and the balances in the Accounts drawer

One more thing... by changing the "Include in All Accounts" back on (checking the box), the issue resolves...

The balances and totals for Accounts not included in All Accounts are drawn to be a bit faded. But, we're not seeing any reason why that would cause your color selection to go from green or black to fully white, particularly considering we're not able to see anything similar happen in testing here setting exactly what you have set in Settings. Can you tell us what version of macOS you're running there? And, would you be at all willing to send your recent CheckBook Pro log messages over to us at support@splasm.com? These could show any errors being logged behind-the-scenes that would explain what you're seeing there.

To gather the log messages, click the Finder icon on your Dock, go to the Go menu at the top of your screen and click the Utilities menu item, double-click the Terminal icon, and copy and paste the following command:

log show --info --debug --predicate 'process contains[c] "CheckBook"' |gzip > ~/Desktop/Splasm.log.gzip; open -R ~/Desktop/Splasm.log.gzip

Press the Return key on your keyboard and wait, usually less than a minute, until a file named Splasm.log.gzip is highlighted on the Desktop for you. Attach Splasm.log.gzip to your email to us and we’ll have a look.
