Post subject:  Dates and beeps

I have my date format set to mm.dd.yy in system preferences. Every time I enter a zero in the month or day fields in Checkbook it gives me a rude beep.

Checkbook uses the system wide preference for dates (as it should), but obviously has been programed to reject leading zeros in the date fields. Having the app beep at me when I enter good data, is just bad manners. :( Please could you fix this in V2.

It is a little rude but CheckBook wasn't intentionally programmed this way. The date picker interface element is based on Apple's NSDatePicker class and apparently they didn't foresee that some users would want to type a leading zero in each date component field. You'll hear the same beep if you try to enter a leading zero in the date picker in the Date & Time preference pane in System Preferences. We haven't found a way to work around the beep - yet - but we'll keep an eye out for a fix.
