I have a crappy SD based digital video camera that spits out .asf files, I play them just fine in Quicktime with Flip4Mac. When I drop them into Podner it says:

"Podner cannot process one or more of these files because they were protected by their creator."

I didn't protect them and can't figure out how to de-protect them. When I look up the info for each file it says I have read/write permissions, so I don't know what the deal is.

Flip4Mac WMV Player (the basic Player, not Player Pro) will not allow QuickTime applications, such as Podner, to export WMV content - even though the video plays correctly. Flip4Mac WMV Player tries to prevent confusion about this by setting the "no save allowed" flag in the movie as its loaded into memory to tell applications that the movie is not to be edited and/or exported. If an application ignores this flag then it will err when the export is attempted. The flag is not set, and WMV content can be edited and exported, when Flip4Mac WMV Player Pro is installed.
