Using the Beta Divx Codec for Mac Intel (from DivxLabs), I am getting 2X performance over Rosetta (which you have to set Podner to use with the current production Divx Codec), however, Podner is not producing a soundtrack. I've checked in QuickTime, there is no soundtrack being produced. On my older iMac G4 (also running 10.4.4), Podner works perfectly. However, when Podner is run under Rosetta, I'm getting pretty much the same performance I saw on my G4. The Original AVI file has an XVID video track and an MP3 soundtrack.

What do you suggest? Should I be using a different Codec or a special one for the sound?? javascript:emoticon(':?')

Thanks!

This could be the same issue we're tracking with QuickTime 7.0.4 at http://www.splasm.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=151 . Since there's no way for Intel Macs to downgrade to QuickTime 7.0.1 and reinstall QuickTime 7.0.3, you might try installing 3ivx, then running your file through DivX Doctor II under Rosetta before running the file through Podner.

DivX Doctor II: http://www.3ivx.com/coral/DivXDoctorII2.2.dmg

Well, I gave both a try - Turns out that I just get a white background in the preview pane, no video when I load the "Doctored" AVI into Podner running under Native mode - Interestingly enough, I now get sound. My guess is the the 3ivx Codec isn't running properly under native mode. When I put Podner into Rosetta mode, I get both video and sound in the preview pane.

Took about 1.5 hrs for Podner to do a 45 minute AVI to MP4 in Rosetta mode. Once this Codec thing is working correctly on the Intel, Performance is going to scream.

Any other suggestions for things to try?
