I too, am interested in finding a way to edit the the TO-FROM data in the drop down box.

I too, have abandoned QUICKEN, and have set up my 2010 checking account to prepare doing my 2010 taxes. For whatever reason, I have wound up with a larger than desired TO-FROM listing. I have wound up with several versions of the same TO or FROM.
Having now decided which versions I would like to use in the 2010 and upcoming set-up of my 2011 checking account I would like to remove the TO and FROM entries that I will not use in the future.

I have already edited in the TX drop down box the various TO & FROM entries which I would like to change. This was a tedious, tx by tx process. I was willing to pay the price for the benefit of reporting and summarizing consistency. However, there should be a way to edit TO & FROM entries in the TO-FROM data drop down or as a separate process.

Similarly, it would be nice to edit the CATEGORY drop down list. Because of my own stupidity, i have multiple versions of the same category in the drop down box. I have now decided on the final ( and smaller set) of category names, and would like to remove those which I don't need or want from the drop down box. I am going to try to edit the list thru the use of the edit account(s) process. If this is not good, I will let you know while you come up with really snazzy way to do both editing jobs.

finally (whew), I dropped QUICKEN because it wanted to take over my entire financial life when all I wanted was a streamlined, capable checkbook program. I have found it in CHECKBOOKPRO (CBPRO in the future). You folks have done a good job and I expect that you will keep your creative juices flowing on improving CBPRO so that it becomes even better.

Yes, the "Edit account..." and "Edit All Accounts..." is whee you do this. It's in the top line of menus.
Edit > Edit Account... and then just edit Descriptions and From/To with the Add, Edit or Delete tools.
"Category" editing is in the "Edit All Accounts..." menu. Hope that helps.

I'm back from where many others have been before. Foloowed the advice of my learned friend t3rockhall> I came, I clicked and I was dumfounded!.

went to EDIT ACCOUNT.
The DROP DOWN DIALOGUE BOX appeared ( as if by magic)
clicked on GENERAL button = all is well there
clicked on DESCRIPTIONS BUTTON = all is well there
clicked on TYPES BUTTON = all is well there
then.....(suspensful music starts growing in volume in the background)

I clicked on TO/FROM BUTTON = empty box appears. in the box is a light gray to on the first line and a light gray from on the second line. but nothing else. However...I see a choice and click on "all entered to/from items" ( of course, I should have known) and then (suspensful music reaches crescendo) N O T H I N G......

I click ok (the music stops) and the bad dream disappears into the program bar. I don't even know what questions to ask!. help me, help me. ---graylensman.

THE TO FROM LIST IS EDITABLE!!. I FOLLOWED MY LEARNED COLLEAGUE'S ADVICE ( UP TO A POINT) I CLICKED ON "THE FOLLOWING TO/FROM.."BUTTON AND LO! AND BEHOLD! THE LIGHT GRAY TO AND FROM LINES TURNED BLACK.....NOW YOU SAID SOMETHING ABOUT AN ARROW. THE ONLY ARROW I COULD SEE WAS TO THE RIGHT UNDER THE LIST BOX. WHEN I CLICKED IT, THERE WAS A INDICATION THAT YOU HAD TO "IMPORT" THE TO/FROM DATA FROM YOUR ACCOUNT.

WHO KNEW?? SO I DID!!!!

THE LIST OF TOs AND FROMs MAGICALLY APPEARED (NO MUSIC THIS TIME) AND I FOUND THAT I COULD CHANGE / ADD / DELETE / CORRECT THE SPELLING OF ETC.. MANY THANKS MATE. YOU HAVE MADE AN OLD MAN'S DAY. I DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING IN THE USER MANUAL ABOUT THIS OR AM I BLIND IN MY OLD AGE??

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU, MAY YOU BE ABLE TO "REPAIR THE WORLD" A BIT, STAY HEALTHY AND BE PROSPEROUS. LP
