Has "BeLittler" been knocked out? It was there 10 minutes ago. Dismayed voters want to know : )

Keep the cowboy hat. You have some equity with that. Change the name to "Buckaroo" and we'll all be happy.

The problem with BeLittler is that despite its cleverness it has a negative connotation; to belittle is to disparage or speak of with contempt. One of the first rules of marketing is to stay away from names with negative meanings.

Also, while asking your existing customer base for ideas for a new name is a great idea, asking them to vote on a name isn't; one of the primary purposes of a good product name is to draw new customers to your product, so make sure you do some polling outside your customer base before making a final decision!

What about rendop? Doesn't actually remove the pod from the name though. Just flips at around, like senuti.

Having your customers vote on the name rather than choosing the names from the many submitted seems smarter to me. And using the word 'belittle' as a program name, while clever, is very negative.

Also, I don't understand keeping the Western theme connection to either your company or the product at all. It made sense with iPodner because of the sound reference using iPod in the name, doubled with the idea that the app was your "partner" in making videos for your iPod. But the western themes now seem to be holding onto it for the past rather than looking toward the future of the product.

Well, that's my 2 cents for whatever it is worth. Good luck and I am looknig forward to seeing what name is choosen, whatever it is.

A few more suggestions, not for names but criteria for picking one. Give greater consideration to names that suggest the following key selling points of the product:

- Easy to use (video conversion is notoriously difficult in the consumer's mind)
- Fast (iPod video conversion is notoriously slow)
- Friendly (not necessarily the same as easy to use)

A product name doesn't necessarily have to describe the product to be successful, but its frosting on top of the cake if it does.

Do you intend to keep the product using the same interface, ie. dropping the video file into the hat, if yes, then these names are suitable!


1. Hat-trick (already, in the public consciousnesses)

2. Hat-drop (slogan: "at the drop of a hat")

3. Drop-Flick (ie. drop your flick in the hat)

4. Drop-Vid ("drop your video in here")
