I've changed banks and need to move all of my scheduled transactions (30+) to the new account. Is there a way to either 1) copy the "scheduled" tab to the new account or 2) duplicate the transactions from one account to another? "Duplicate" seems to only function within one account, so it's not helpful here. Re-typing everything would be a minor nightmare. Help?

This is a follow up to my first question: is it possible to "make recurring" a regular transaction? Let's say I enter a debit card transaction for the Ice Cream Man, and find myself doing that every Friday. I'd like to simply right click the transaction to add it to my schedule, rather than retyping the whole thing again. This is essentially duplicating an entry, but again between tabs. Thanks!

Unfortunately, there's neither a way to copy Scheduled Entries from one Account to another nor change an Entry in the Entry section in to a Scheduled Entry.

That gives us some good ideas for improving CheckBook and CheckBook Pro, though. So, we may look in to incorporating those features in to a future release. Thanks!

You'll save that "future release" for just after the iOS version comes out, right? Sarcasm intended.

The only positive sign is that Splasm hasn't deleted any of these posts. At least they seem to be accepting the criticism, but still... Crickets.

Just don't say anything about it on Twitter... they really get ugly... been there, done that. Still have the scars from someone named "Terra"...

Don,

I apologize that we haven't met your expectations and for anything we've done to make you or others feel misled concerning MoneyBug. You're welcome to return your purchase for a full refund and we'll be happy to help you export your data so it can work with a different personal finance app.

Last summer, I apologized for not releasing MoneyBug on schedule at http://www.splasmata.com/?p=1363. We honestly believed our first timetable for MoneyBug, weren't able to release on time, made another public announcement about when it would ship, then weren't able to meet that timeframe, either. I ended my apology with a commitment to not announce again until a release is right around the corner. We stand by that commitment today.

I tried to make the point in my apology that our development resources are limited. Making quality apps like ours takes a lot of creative energy and time, and things that seem routine, like adjustments for major Mac OS X releases or preparing our apps for the Mac App Store, can take a lot of time away from projects like MoneyBug. For example, Apple's push to require Mac App Store apps be 'sandboxed' - a buzzword in our industry that most users have never heard - recently forced us to spend several weeks re-engineering our apps. We can't afford to not be on the Mac App Store - without it we won't be able to keep developing our apps - so we made the painful decision to work on sandboxing instead of CheckBook 2.5 and MoneyBug.

I hope you'll understand we're doing the best we can, Don. Our goal is to create apps that help make our users' lives a little smoother. I'm sorry that didn't happen in your case. We want the best for you and we're ready to do what we can to help you find a personal finance manager that meets your needs. Let us know how we can help and we'll get started!
