But I need a kitchen in Scotland!

I think...well, it's time we tell you the truth.

The time and effort we put into our apps? Just a facade. Our true calling is designing and building custom kitchens and selling all the necessary housewares. There's just nothing like hanging a set of cabinets (I live on the edge and do this on my own most of the time. Ah, the rush of getting things level on the first try!), or guilting a husband into showing just how much he cares about his better half by going all stainless. We love kitchens so much that we'll walk away from our desks on a Friday afternoon before a long holiday weekend and just sorta "look the other way" while our neighbors across the pond carefully sidestep the forum's security measures, which are intentionally weak. We're awed at how many ways they've found to tell you a new kitchen is in your immediate future, whether or not you think you want or need one. Because you absolutely do need one. Yeah, it's a little annoying at times. A lot more so for us, though. We have to force ourselves to respond to the support requests that piled up over the long weekend before we can daydream over our favorite kitchen paint chips and the latest countertops...and then, reluctantly, we get around to removing each spam post. Sometimes, we'll let it go a whole extra day. Hope you all don't mind.

If there's anything special you're looking for in your next kitchen, or if you need to go out of your way to try to repair a damaged domestic relationship, just let us know. Or we'll let you know. Either way, you're getting a new kitchen.

Seriously, though, spammers are getting better at breaking through the forum's defenses. That makes our job a bit harder. We fight the spam when we're in the office, but the long holiday weekend in the States kept us pretty busy with support yesterday so we're just cleaning up the forum today. Can I offer you a kitchen while you wait?

Yeah. The other thing about this is that those of us who regularly follow the forums receive auto notification of new topics/postings. Each time, it is indicated that we will no longer receive notification until we respond to the current one. This means we have to click to read each spam thread that comes into our inbox if we want to stay up to date with the other postings. I've missed out on a number of threads of useful information/topics when I haven't responded to the spam, or when I've responded too late….

Just sayin'

How hard can it be to filter a simple text string? This is the only forum I participate in that has this problem. Also, eliminate hot links in the forum. Note that I no longer will participate in keeping your forums clean. Like money bug, you just seem to work at a snails pace. Alas.

Totally agree.

Well if they are, it certainly isn't working. I'd go to another forum server.
