I purchased checkbook Pro 2.0 in 2011. Recently I updated my Mac to Maverick and needed to update Checkbook 2.0 in order to enter deposit and withdrawl amounts. I retrieved my data as outlined in your support. But now I can no longer make new entries unless I come up with a license number or purchase a new product. Do I need to pay again for the same product I already have purchased?

There's definitely no need to purchase again. Here's a link for where you can retrieve your serial number using your original Order number: http://store6.esellerate.net/store/support/Default.aspx

If you don't know your Order number, enter your email address into the section labeled 'Finding your order number'. After that use your email address and order number at the top to have the serial number sent.

Or, you can email us at support@splasm.com, providing your name and the email address used to purchase with, and we can locate your serial number by searching our eSellerate Order records using the info provided.

I have sent in a request multiple times. I received the order number, but not the serial number. This is very frustrating.

The automated service is handled by eSellerate, our online store provider, and it could take some time before a response is sent. I found an order associated with the email you registered on this forum with so I'll go ahead and send the serial number to that email as well. Be sure to keep an eye on your email Spam/Junk folder, in case our email or the eSellerate emails are getting marked as spam, for some reason.

I also just purchased Checkbook thru the Apple Store for Mac and need my serial #. I followed your link to request my serial # thru e-sellarate but got a popup that stated my order # was not valid. :)

Our online store orders are all that are dealt with by eSellerate. With Mac App Store purchases, everything's handled by Apple and they use a completely different order numbering scheme so that's why an App Store order number wouldn't be viewed as valid by eSellerate.

Also, App Store purchases don't come with or require serial numbers—the licensing information comes along with the application file package download. So, if you're getting asked for a serial number, it's because a trial from our site is installed and that needs to be deleted before you can install your fully licensed App Store copy. So, drag the CheckBook from the Applications folder to the Trash, empty the Trash, and then access the Purchases section of the App Store to get going. (Rest assured that deleting the application won't also remove any data added when using the trial because that's stored in a file that's separate from the application itself.)
