I need CBPro to read and write to a file on a disk image, as opposed to in my user folder. How do I go about directing it to that file? Creating an alias to the file on the disk image does not work, CBPro simply starts a new accounts file, overwriting the alias.

I really need to have the file on this disk image for backup purposes.

CheckBook Pro stores account data in your user folder to avoid losing a link to your original account file or having more than one user write data to the same account file at the same time, causing data loss.

to backup CheckBook Pro's account data, you can use the 'Backup Accounts...' item under the file menu at the top left of the screen, or you can have a backup application copy or you can manually copy the following folders on your mac to a safe volume:

/Users/[your username here]/Library/Application Support/CheckBook 2/
/Users/[your username here]/Library/Preferences/Splasm/

But that's an extra step I'm trying to design out of my backup scheme. :(

I'm attempting to get all my important personal data on this disk image, so that when I log out the file server the image resides on handles the backup automatically.
