When I reinstalled Snow Leopard, I had a copy of my backup accounts.plist which was in my documents folder. Upon reinstalling CheckBook 2, I discovered that my hard work of setting the exact custom width of each column like Check No., Category, Description and the colors and arrangement order of the columns was not preserved or stored in the accounts.plist file which I put into library>Application Support>CheckBook 2. I noticed in Library Preferences that there is a file under SPASM called Checkbook 2 preferences (as well as backups - what is that doing there?...I thought that folder was set in Documents). If I save the Checkbook 2 preference file from the Library>preferences to a CD-R along with the Accounts.plist file and insert these files in the proper locations in a new install of Snow Leopard, will I get my data as well as the proper format and color choices I worked so hard to setup before reinstalling Leopard?
Suggestion: You can spend a lot of time for multiple accounts and reconciled tab, getting the widths of columns just right and the same from account to account for a neat look. Future versions of CheckBook should have an ability to provide numerical setting of column widths like 1" for Type or 1.3" for Category, etc. Also, you should maybe be able to lock the column width once you get them right. But the main question above is what file in Library can you save to get back your preference settings of column widths, font settings and colors? Am I right about the Spasm>Checkbook 2 preference file in Library being the right file to write to disc for later restore?
