Is there a way to set up the preferred account when opening Pro? It defaults to All Accounts and I'd like it to be my Business Account.

Thanks

CheckBook Pro is set to reopen with whichever Account you had selected before you closed the application. Are you finding that no matter what you have selected, CheckBook Pro opens with All Accounts selected from the Accounts drawer?

That is correct. Checkbook Pro starts with All Accounts no matter which account it was in when I closed it. I just tried it three times with two different accounts and saving before closing, and also just closing. Same result.

Are you finding that any other data is not being saved? Also, are you using the latest version, version 2.3.1? You can check by selecting 'About CheckBook Pro' from the CheckBook Pro menu at the top of the screen. If you are using an older version, try updating and then see if the issue persists.

If that doesn't do it, try restarting your computer.

This is a problem for me, too. Using Checkbook Pro 2.3.1 and can't figure out how to reopen in the last used account. It always reopens in all accounts when started.
I read this message in Feb 2012 and have restarted my computer a number of times since and it has not resolved the problem. If you emailed the resolution to Lightingheart, you might have considered posting the solution to the forum. I have been checking back occasionally for the answer, but the last post was Feb 01 and no further resolution was given.
As far as I can tell all of my data is being saved.
This is annoying.

Lightningheart never got back to us, neither on here nor via email. It's possible that updating or restarting his/her computer cleared up the issue in that particular case. Feel free to contact us at support@splasm.com any time an issue is frustrating you and you can't find the answer here on the forums.

Since you are fully updated and restarting didn't get you going again, we will need to delve deeper. It's possible that just CheckBook Pro's Preferences aren't getting saved properly. Would it be possible for you to send us your Preferences file so that we can take a look at it?

To locate the file (which is tucked away in the hidden User Library folder if you're using Lion), first, click on Finder down in the Dock. Then, hold down Shift and Command with one hand and press the letter G key with the other hand. Next, paste the following in to the 'Go to Folder' field:

~/Library/Application Support/Splasm Software, Inc./CheckBook 2

Attach the 'CheckBook 2 Preferences' file, from the CheckBook 2 folder you end up at, to an email to us at support@splasm.com.

Thanks for helping us gather more information. Once we see the Preferences file, we should be able to figure out why CheckBook Pro is not performing as expected to there.

Thanks for sending your Preferences file to us via email. It really helped!

We were able to create a special build that corrects the behavior, so that when one opens up CheckBook Pro while running Leopard, the Account that was selected the last time you used the application is brought up--as to be expected.

Here's a link to that special build: http://www.splasm.com/special/checkbook ... .3.2a6.zip

The build can safely be used until the next official release.

I downloaded the special build and it resolved the problem. Checkbook Pro is now more pleasant to use.
Thank you Allan.
